Hi! My name is Alkistis, for the friends Alkie, and I am a Greek EVS volunteer here in Cluj Napoca for a year! I graduated from the Fine Arts Department in my city, Thessaloniki, and now I am working in a Hungarian kindergarten. I like all kind of creative activities like drawing, writing, singing, dancing, reading, learning languages and above all travelling, because I am meeting interesting people from different cultural backgrounds to exchange ideas, beliefs, general knowledge and share beautiful moments! :)
I loved the idea of the Convo Clubs from the first moment I've heard about them and I am very happy that I can participate and support this kind of initiative! So let's come together, learn some greek, romanian, spanish, hungarian, chinese and ...whatever! Let's just meet each other, share culture and have fun!!! ;)
My name is Anastasios Anagnostou, but you can call me Taso. I am from the region of Pelion, Greece and studied International Business and European Affairs in Athens, where I also got a minor in Foreign Languages. I grew up in the US where I learned English at school but spoke Greek at home. Growing up bilingual in a multicultural environment made learning languages always fascinating to me. Prior to coming to Romania I also worked in Tunisia. Throughout my university years I worked as a waiter in Greece, where I was in constant direct contact with foreign tourists. These experiences made me realize how important it is to actually converse in other languages. I currently work at the Greek department of Samsung here in Cluj. Learning foreign languages has also made me greater appreciate Greek, which has the longest documented history of any living language (more than 3.4 thousand years). Its importance can be seen in its influence on other languages throughout the centuries especially but not limited to science, mathematics, literature, and technology. I look forward to meeting all of you at the Convoclub!
